Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale is an American basketball player for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. The team was selected with the 5th pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft by the Dallas Wings. Arike Ogunbowale was born on the 2nd of March 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years old) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her older brothers. Her parents spoilt her the most because she was the youngest. Gregory, Gregory's father, worked in the Nigerian Army. Ogunbowale is from a vivacious family. Her mother Yolanda played softball for DePaul and her brother Dare plays football. Her aunt used to play volleyball at UAPB and her cousin Endia Oliver is also a Volleyball player at Tennessee State. Ogunbowale is in the school's honor roll for three years in a row. Ogunbowale has also received numerous prizes and gained fame and recognition from her high school career. Arike earned her degree at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School which is located in the city of her birth. Alongside her studies Arike also played on three varsity teams at Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. Ogunbowale, owing to her remarkable capabilities and skills, helped lead her school to stunning wins multiple times. Her high school career was compiled with 73 starts, 1,477 career points, and 739 career rebounds. Ogunbowale played in her first 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship and 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship and won Gold medals there. In 2014, the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team was announced on the 7th July 2014. Ogunbowale was also selected to be part of the ACC All-Freshman Team for her first time in a collegiate game. The coach even thanked the legendary Kobe Bryant after she hit numerous big shots during the NCCA Tournament. Although still a newbie Ogunbowale has already earned herself the status of an outstanding basketball player, and she is bound to follow her dream. Arike ogunbowale is believed to be worth $5 million, according to an unnamed source. Although a basketball player Ogunbowale excels in various different sports too. She's an active soccer player. She has won three State Cup championships with Lake County United Soccer Club in addition to a State Cup victory with FC Milwaukee Soccer Club. She even studied piano for 7 years.
